Your Favourite Places in Wales (Part 1)

SnowdonOn St David's Day we asked you on our @wonderfulwales twitter page to nominate your favourite place in Wales (#favouriteplaceinwales).

We had plenty of suggestions of places all over the country, showing what a diverse and spectacular country Wales is.

Unsurpisingly, our mountains featured in the list with Snowdon and Pen y Fan featuring.

Mount Snowdon (or Yr Wyddfa in Welsh) is the highest mountain in Wales.  Located in the Snowdonia National Park in the North West of the country, it is 1085 metres (3560ft) above sea level.  The views from the top are exceptional.  On a clear day from the summit you can see as far as Ireland and the Isle of Man.

The are a number of paths to the summit of Snowdon, some more difficult than others whilst the Snowdon Mountain Railway transports to the top those who wish to take it a little easier.
