Open Doors

Caerphilly CastleWho said history was about muddled dates and boring buildings! As part of the Open Doors European Heritage Days initiative, some of Wales' most important historic buildings (some usually closed to the public) will throw open their doors and invite you take a rare opportunity to have a look around for absolutely nothing.

As well as visiting historic buildings the scheme includes a number of walks, musicals events and talks.  One such walk is the Cardiff's Forgotten Past walk.

Do your own piece of time travelling on a riveting 90 minute gently paced and traffic free stroll through the city centre's past in the company of local guide Jim Cowan.  Enjoy history brought to life through colourful stories of the city's forgotten past, lost streets and its famous (and infamous!) characters.

The walks take place on Saturday 10th September and are will be free.  However, there is limited availability on each one so booking through Cardiff Tourist Information Centre is essential. These were extremely popular last year.

Secure your place on the tours by calling Cardiff Tourist Information Centre on +44 (0) 29 2087 3573
