It's a big weekend
coming up in Cardiff. In fact it is THE Big
Weekend, the highlight of the Cardiff Summer Festival. City
Hall lawn is taken over by a fairground, stalls and music stage for
one long party.
The free festival all starts on Friday with many local bands
taking to the stage before headliners Funeral for a Friend play
their set. Fireworks then round off the evening with a
bang.
Saturday sees the ever popular MAS Carnival kick off the day's
activities. Hundreds of flamboyant costumes, carnival
creations, giant puppets on backpacks and mobile sculptures take
part in a grand parade from the Wales Millennium Centre before
arriving at the City Hall for more music and festivities throughout
the afternoon and into the evening.
Sunday's music sees more bands take to the stage before The
Feeling and a grand fireworks display brings the weekend to a
close.
