Event - Tour of Britain
Location - Caerphilly
Date - 19 September 2013

With the Tour de France underway it seems that now is the perfect time to look ahead to the Tour of Britain.

The cycle race, which was re-launched in 2004, sees some of the top teams from around the globe battle it out on the roads around Britain.

And for the first time this year, Wales is home to two stages.  The first day in Wales sees the riders tackle the stunning scenery of Snowdonia with the gruelling climb up to Pen y Pass before the decent to the finish in Llanberis.

The second Welsh stage on 19 September is now one of the most popular stages of the race.

Starting in Machynlleth, the riders race through the heart of Wales and over the Brecon Beacons and on to the now legendary climb of Caerphilly Mountain, which the riders have to tackle twice.

The finish line is in the shadows of the magnificent Caerphilly Castle and this year's riders will try and emulate then World Champion, Thor Hushovd of Norway who won here in 2011 and 2012's winner Leopold König.

Who will follow in the footsteps of last year's Tour of Britain winner, Jonathan Tiernan Locke, and stake their claim for the leader's Gold jersey?
