Event - Extreme Sailing & Harbour Festival
Location - Cardiff Bay
Date - 22-25 August 2014
For more information please visit the
Extreme sailing returns to Cardiff Bay as part
of the annual Harbour Festival.
The confines of the bay provide a natural viewing platform for the
public to watch the sporting entertainment unfold. With the
boats hitting high speeds, crashes, capsizes and near misses are
all common place and add to the excitement of the day.
Back on dry land, the annual Cardiff Bay Harbour Festival will be
in full swing. The Cardiff Bay beach will be open as will the ever
popular continental market. There'll also be plenty of live
music and fun and games for all the family.
Take a look at the video to see what happened at
last year's event.
The Easter holidays are almost upon us and parents up and
down the country will be looking for ideas to keep the little ones
Well one way is by taking them along to Techniquest in Cardiff Bay.
They'll love it.
Techniquest is hands on science centre. It houses 160 science,
maths and engineering exhibitions and experiments. And the best
thing about it is that because your child is having so much fun
they don't realise they're also learning at the same time. Live
demonstrations and a planetarium all add to the fun.

very big happy first birthday to one of South Wales' most exciting
attractions - Cardiff International White Water
centre. Opened last March as part of the Cardiff
Bay sports village, the centre is proving very popular.
80,000 people braved the rapids over the last 12 months.
A whole host of activities are on offer including the ever popular
white water rafting and hydro speeding, where the brave (or
foolish) descend the rapids clinging on to nothing more than a
triangular piece of plastic while getting tossed from side to side.
It actually looks quite good fun!
The centre is suitable for everyone, as they can control the speed
and flow of the water depending on your expertise. Why not
give it a go for yourself.
